In this lunch seminar held on 11 Sep 2017, Ms Hsu Min CHUNG – Partner of HGF specialized in patents in the fields of chemistry, material science and pharmaceuticals, began with an overview on patent protection for pharmaceutical areas. Ms. Chung discussed about the NCE protection, several life cycle case and effect of barriers to generic entry. Ms. Chung also shared about how universities can protect intellectual property in the pharmaceutical field and the challenges they are facing, and concluded with the recent court case decision in UK on new uses for old drugs.
