ABSTRACT : 
There are three basic patentability requirements in patent application: 1) novel; 2) industrial applicable; and 3) nonobvious. Of these three, inventive step – i.e., nonobvious is the most critical element to patentability, and often time, new patent filers will find the concept difficult to understand.  In this seminar, Dr. Chuan will explain in detail the fundamental issue around inventive step and how to ensure that you meet the nonobvious requirement.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER : 
Dr. GAO Chuan is a Partner of Kilpatrick Towsend & Stockton LLP in San Francisco, and has more than 16 years’ experience in biotechnology patents prosecution. She assists clients with patent portfolio management, U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, licensing, due diligence reviews, freedom to operate analyses, as well as validity and infringement opinions.
