Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) 2016 Demo Day

We are pleased to announce that at the Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) Demo Day held on 27 October 2016, The University of Hong Kong has 4 teams (Charifit, Savier, FinHub and Moneysmart) each awarded a HK$100,000 cash prize and an interview opportunity to the Cyberport Incubation Program. 

The 10 winning teams were selected from a pool of 20 teams from 6 universities in Hong Kong to join a 1-week long Startup Bootcamp at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in September. All teams pitched their FinTech ideas and business models on the Demo Day at Cyberport. HKU had 4 teams participated in the competition and ALL of them won the prizes.

Team name: Charifit
Project: Charitfit is a mobile application that connects runners, charity and local SMEs. SMEs make donation according to the runners data collected.

Team name: Savier
Project: Empowering Youth's wallets through social engagement. Save more and Spend Wisely.

Team name: FinHub
Project: FinHub is a social trading platform that enables users to learn and share investment through virtual trading and gamification.

Team name: Moneysmart 
Project: A one-stop online insurance platform that targets to offer group purchase discounts in general insurance products.
